In the morning on Thursday, October 27, 2022, a Louisville police officer was involved in a collision with another vehicle in downtown Louisville when he was attempting to pass through an intersection on Broadway against a red light. The collision caused the police officer’s vehicle to strike a third vehicle. The driver of the third vehicle was taken to U of L Hospital with injuries. No other injuries were reported. The Louisville Police Department is investigating the accident. The officer reportedly used his siren and lights, but his responsibility in entering an intersection against a redlight is more than just turning on his sirens and lights.
